It works fine but it can be better.
First of is that you can't make Android Auto to go Automatically Dark Mode at night no matter what settings you put into Android Auto on your phone, it would be easy for Andream to set this right because MMI Box have access to the CAN Network of car and the MMI Box could send signal to Android Auto that Headlights are ON and Android Auto would change to Dark Mode like OEM. Heck not even Waze goes Dark Mode at night and Waze have a setting to only go Dark Mode at night but for some reason the MMI Box is forcing Light Mode, you can only switch to dark mode if you change it manually which is not that fancy to mess around.
You can't change DPI for Android Auto in MMI settings and this would lead for a better image quality and more information on Android Auto but instead you get somewhat bigger UI that takes lots of the screen space. I have the Dynaudio Premium Sound with Discover Pro MIB1 7" Display System.
It took awhile to set the Audio and Steering Wheel Controls correctly because using Car's BT Audio Channel was not working great for instance map alerts and Google Assistant were very low volume everytime they speak even if you adjust the volume when they do speak it would default to low volume again, started to use AUX and it was much better in fact in MMI settings you could adjust Music alerts etc volume independently when AUX is in use.
Another minor thing is that when you start the car and do Reverse gear before Android Auto begins in between you start hearing the music playing meaning that Android Auto is already Active but after you finish Reverse you will not get automatically to the Android Auto screen you will have to press manually to go to, anyway this is fast enough to not bother much but still.
Andream Support is OK but I didn't get anything helpful from reporting this issues.
Wish I could have some insight about future MMI Box software updates, like on what they are working on to fix or add to the MMI Box.
Make no mistake this is a High Quality MMI Box and it feels like it from the MMI Box UI to the Actual Carplay/Android Auto experience the modern look and easy of use when you get the grip of it.
I would give 5 stars if it wasn't the things I mentioned that are deal break.
Device was delivered in time. There was an issue with rear camera - with connected MCU and gearbox on park, rear camera was highjacking media system screen, and only on neutral and drive screen was showing output from MCU. I wrote to andream support and got an answer at next day with a new firmware and instructions how to update the MCU. All is working good after MCU firmware upgrade
Worth the money, good customer support. Screen installation took 2 hours, reverse camera and dab+ installation took 8+ hours. Dab+ not tested yet, due to no signal in my area. Very responsive screen, ultra fast. Should get used to setting up Android Auto or select built in music player amd maps, little tricky. 80% funtionality integrated with car. Would be nice if the volume bar appears when we change volume, but can live with. Starts fast, including reverse camera. Feels like a real 5 series. Split screen available. Underlying device: Google pixel 3XL. Would be nice with more updates. But its great already.
Cela fait maintenant une semaine que j’ai installé l’écran et c’est vraiment top !
Le téléphone se connecte directement dès que je démarre la voiture, tout est réactif et fonctionnel,… CarPlay change la vie ! De plus, on a toujours accès à l’OEM de base de BMW donc, aucun souci pour les infos du véhicule. Même le GPS (bien qu’à présent inutile) est toujours utilisable. Idem pour la radio. Vraiment aucun regret.
Enfin, le support par mail est super réactif et toujours disponible pour répondre à toute question avec toutes les infos !

I love it . Very fast and responsive. I saw on youtube how to install it on my x5 f15 . It was a litle pain for placing it inside , but finally I put the box on one side ,and the thick cabels on the other. Otherwise it works as a charm. Exellent ! I reccomend it 10 out of 10 points.
This product works very well, basically plug and play, only had to change the settings for the screen in the Andream android factory settings using the pass code 1368 "enter" to solve the iDrive only using half the screen size by selecting the right screen for the new size. Also had to move the optical fiber cable to the additional supplied cable plug. Carplay is very fast and the touch screen is great, very good resolution, nice and clear. The picture I have here is of the screen size problem that I write about here that is very easy to fix as described in settings. One very happy customer.
Really pleased with this unit does what it says on the tin. I downloaded the video to my iPad and had that available on top of the dash. Make sure you have all the tools you will need to hand and a thick cloth to stop the display from getting scratched as suggested in the video. Very easy install, very pleased with it. Thank you.

I wish there was a manual inside the box for the dip switch setting but they sent it to me immediately at my email when I asked for it.
Works really well, fast and responsive. Excellent quality. Definitely worth it to modernise your car.
